For over 50 years, NIVUS technologies have set the standard in surface water and open-channel flow measurement. Together with WaterHygge, that legacy continues combining decades of hydraulic expertise with a deep understanding of the diverse water environments across Southeast Asia.
Our systems are designed to adapt to challenging hydraulic conditions, ensuring every measuring point delivers reliable, long-term data for effective water resource management.
From remote catchments to complex urban waterways, WaterHygge and NIVUS deliver measurement solutions that empower smarter, more sustainable water management across the region.

Aging dams demand precise and continuous monitoring to ensure long-term structural safety. Together with NIVUS, WaterHygge delivers advanced seepage measurement solutions for detecting and tracking even the smallest water movements within dam galleries and embankments.
In a recent project of NIVUS, involving a 130-year-old quarry-stone dam with a clay core and an internal inspection gallery, seepage volumes ranged from just milliliters per second to liters per second. Previously, these were measured manually once a week leaving critical gaps in early detection.
To enable continuous, automatic monitoring of low seepage flows under extreme environmental conditions (100% humidity) within the dam structure, with data transmission to a control cabinet located approximately 1,000 meters away.
Using the NIVUS NivuFlow 750 flow measurement system, the low-volume seepage water was channeled through a DN100 pipe equipped with a cross-correlation pipe sensor, capable of detecting minimal flow velocities within just a few millimeters of water height.
A waterproof MPX preamplifier transmitted the measured flow velocity signals reliably over the 1 km distance to the external transmitter for continuous evaluation and alarm monitoring.
With decades of experience in hydraulic measurement, WaterHygge and NIVUS help dam operators modernize safety monitoring, replacing manual checks with intelligent, automated systems for predictive maintenance and risk prevention.
